Shortest expiry dispensed first. Every time. Without manual checking.

FEFO (First-Expiry-First-Out) dispensing is enforced automatically. When a pharmacist dispenses a drug, ZenoHosp selects the batch with the shortest expiry. The pharmacist doesn't need to check dates manually — the system ensures the right batch is selected.

  • Shortest expiry batch selected automatically for every dispense
  • Manual override available with documented reason
  • Pharmacist shown the selected batch and expiry before confirming

Frequently asked questions

How does FEFO dispensing work in ZenoHosp?

When a pharmacist dispenses a drug, ZenoHosp automatically selects the batch with the shortest expiry date. The pharmacist sees the selected batch and expiry before confirming the dispense.

Are low stock alerts configurable per drug?

Yes. Each drug has a configurable minimum stock level per location. When stock falls below the minimum, an alert is generated and optionally a purchase order is auto-created to the preferred supplier.

Does the inventory deduct automatically when a prescription is dispensed?

Yes. When a pharmacist confirms a dispense, stock is deducted from the relevant location immediately. No separate stock entry is required.
