ZenoHosp vs eHospital

eHospital has served Indian hospitals for decades. But its desktop-first architecture and modular pricing were designed for a different era. See how modern hospitals compare.

Why hospitals leave eHospital

Desktop-first, cloud-second

eHospital was built for local server installation. Running it on the cloud feels like an afterthought, and remote access for doctors and admins is often clunky or requires VPN setup.

Pay-per-module, forever

Every additional department — pharmacy, lab, OT — is a separate licence purchase. As hospitals grow and add departments, the costs compound unpredictably.

ABDM as an afterthought

ABHA ID creation, Health Information Exchange, and Digital Health Records are either not native or require expensive integrations. Hospitals near ABDM compliance deadlines find this painful.

ZenoHosp vs eHospital (NIC): common questions

Is ZenoHosp cheaper than eHospital (NIC)?

eHospital is developed by the National Informatics Centre and carries no licence cost for government facilities — nothing commercial competes with free. It is not offered as a commercial product for private hospitals. ZenoHosp publishes its rates rather than quoting on request, and prices per hospital location with no per-user fee. Current figures are on the pricing page.

Can we migrate our existing patient data?

Yes. Migration scope is agreed before the project starts — how many years of history, which modules, and in what format. We put that in writing because migration is the single most common cause of a delayed go-live, and a vague scope is how switching projects overrun.

How long does switching take?

A typical mid-size hospital goes live within 90 days, covering configuration, data migration, staff training and a supported cutover. The state of the data you are migrating moves this more than anything else, so we scope it first.

What should we test in the demo?

Order an IPD drug and watch whether it deducts from pharmacy stock by FEFO and lands on the patient's bill without anyone re-keying it. That single workflow tells you more about whether a system is genuinely integrated than any feature list will.

When is eHospital (NIC) the better choice?

If you are a government hospital or a public health facility, eHospital is almost certainly the right answer and we would not try to talk you out of it. The trade-off is that enhancements and support follow government process rather than a commercial SLA, which matters more to private hospitals than public ones.
