Stock Log
An immutable, time-stamped ledger of every single inventory movement.
The Audit Trail
If you need to know why an item's count changed from 100 to 95, the Stock Log holds the answer. It records:
- Transaction Type: Was it a Goods Receipt (+), an Inter-Store Transfer (+/-), a patient dispensation (-), or a manual write-off (-)?
- Quantity Change: The exact amount added or removed.
- Reference Document: A clickable link to the exact PO, Invoice, or Adjustment ID that triggered the change.
- User Attribution: The specific staff member who performed the action.
Generating Consumption Reports
The Stock Log serves as the data foundation for Consumption Reporting. By exporting this log (filtered by "Consumption" transaction types), the Finance team can calculate the precise cost of goods sold (COGS) for any given department over the month.
