Services & Charge Sheet
Define the master pricing dictionary for all hospital procedures, consults, and bed rates.
The Service Catalog
The Services module is the financial backbone of the HMS. If an item is not registered here, the front desk cannot bill a patient for it (with the exception of Pharmacy stock).
Categorizing Services
To keep the billing search clean, services should be grouped into categories:
- Consultations: First Visit, Follow Up, Emergency Consult.
- Nursing & Treatment: Dressing, Injection Administration, IV fluid setup, Catheterization.
- Surgical Procedures: Major OT fees, Minor OT fees, Anesthesia charges.
- Ward Bed Rates: Daily rental rates for General Wards, Private Rooms, and ICU beds.
Managing Price Books
Hospitals rarely have a single flat rate for everyone. The HMS uses Price Books to manage complex pricing tiers.
- Standard Tariff: The default price book applied to walk-in patients paying out of pocket.
- TPA/Insurance Tariffs: If you have negotiated discounted rates with specific insurance providers (e.g., Star Health, HDFC Ergo), you can create a specific Price Book for them. When a patient with that insurance is billed, the system automatically pulls the discounted rate.
- Corporate Tariffs: Similar to TPA, used for B2B company tie-ups.
Tip: Administrators can use the bulk-import tool (CSV) to update hundreds of service prices at once at the start of a new financial year.
