Onboarding a New Asset

Unlike consumable inventory items (which are tracked by bulk quantity), physical assets are tracked as unique, individual units.

1. Click + Add Asset.
2. Provide a general name (e.g., "Patient Monitor").
3. Crucial Step: Enter the unique Serial Number provided by the manufacturer. If it doesn't have one, the system will generate a unique Asset Code (e.g., MON-003).
4. Assign it to a specific Category and link it to the original Vendor.

Warranty & AMC Tracking

The Asset Inventory grid clearly displays the warranty status for each item:

• Manufacturer Warranty: The standard guarantee period from the date of purchase.
• AMC (Annual Maintenance Contract): Extended service contracts purchased from third-party vendors. Logging these dates here ensures the system alerts you 30 days before a contract expires, preventing lapses in coverage for critical equipment.
