Manage medical staff profiles, consultation schedules, and EMR preferences.

Roster Management

Setting up accurate working hours ensures that patients can only book appointments when the doctor is actually available.

Configuring Recurring Shifts

  1. Open the Doctor's profile and go to the Schedule & Roster tab.
  2. Click Set Recurring Hours.
  3. Define their availability for each day of the week (e.g., Monday-Wednesday 09:00 to 13:00, Thursday-Friday 14:00 to 18:00).
  4. Set the default consultation duration (e.g., 15 minutes or 30 minutes). This divides the total block into bookable slots.

Managing Leaves and Block-Outs

If a doctor goes on vacation, use the Add Exception button to block out their calendar for those specific dates. The system will automatically prevent new bookings and alert you to reschedule any existing ones.

The Clinical View (EMR Dashboard)

When a doctor logs into the HMS, they do not see the standard administrative dashboard. Instead, they are presented with their specific Clinical View.

  • The Patient Queue: A live list of patients currently waiting outside their cabin (those marked as "Checked In" by reception).
  • The Encounter Screen: Upon clicking a patient, the doctor is taken to the Encounter view to record:
    • Chief Complaints & Symptoms
    • Vital Signs (auto-filled if taken by a nurse previously)
    • Clinical Diagnosis (ICD-10 coded)
    • Prescriptions & Lab Orders

Consultation Templates

To speed up the documentation process, doctors can create custom templates for common ailments (e.g., "Viral Fever Template").

Applying a template will auto-fill standard medications, lab tests, and dietary advice with a single click, which the doctor can then modify as needed for the specific patient.
